A wonderful contribution to the tale of Oz! In this story there’s more twists than just a Cyclone!

Farm life isn’t easy with Aunt Em and Uncle Henry aging and Dorothy uncertain where she comes from? Everyone of the main characters has way more depth than the original story, especially Toto! Toto’s sass and attitude had me genuinely laughing out loud.
Desperate to leave a mundane life Dorothy is swept by a tornado finding herself in the land of Oz. The scenery is eerie yet vibrant in Oz. Dorothy is in her mid twenties which makes this retelling work well for fans who’ve grown up with the original Oz classics. The Yellow Bricks are magic that fuel Oz.

It’s been years since the Oz Gods have disappeared leaving the four Cardinal Witches ruling the realm of Oz alongside the Wizard.

We get so many easter eggs to the original Oz stories like the origin story of the Deadly Desert. I absolutely fell in love with Rook & Dorothy. Is this the story of Oz we’ve been needing? Rook was wickedly charming! The alluring man that is tied to a pole resembling a Scarecrow until Dorothy saves him and meets his emerald eyes and ink dark hair. I need more details on him shirtless OKAY? 🤪🥰

A vicious Tin Woodman is set out to capture Dorothy on her way to the Emerald City. The Tinman’s addiction to oil was cleverly crafted!

The romance felt satisfying while the twists make you click your heels! The Cardinal Witches of the North, South, East and West were my favorite. Featuring Lacosta & Glinda, and a new version of the Wicked Witch of the East named Delphine, and the infamous Wicked Witch of the West who may have a valid reason why she is seeking out Dorothy.
