Reign TV show meets Spiderwick Chronicles in this whimsical and war brewed tale.
The tensions and war between Queen Mary of Scots and Queen Elizabeth told from the Scottish Faeries point of view.
This book is thread in Scottish Folklore magic featuring Slaughs (wraiths), Bean Nighe’s, Brownie Fae, Glaistigs, a Winter Goddess, and even a Bog Witch.
@sara_raasch @bethrevis know how to make the pages feel like magic with your senses and imagery
Alyth Graham is the half daughter to the Prince of the Seelie Court: The Fae Realm. She’s in charge of protecting the border between the human world and the fae AND also is protecting Queen Mary from her horrid husband Lord Darnley. My girl Alyth is UNDER PRESSURE so she’s literally DONE with everyone 😭😂 rightfully so!
And then there’s lovely Samson, sent by his crooked father Cecil to infiltrate the Scottish Court to uncover dangerous fairy objects by the Red Caps: wicked fairies with a desire for bloodlust.
I was guided by will-o’-the-wisps the whole time throughout these enchanted pages. I fell absolutely in love with this novel and the fae realm of the Seelie Court. The fact that this book features Elemental and Energy Magic is so AMAZING! Alyth being able to read auras!!! Queen Mary was a HOT MESS without Alyth and Lord Darnley was written so well because I got angry at him every time he spoke. 🤣
Kitty the Brownie had me cracking up!! These authors also know how to write a plot twist!!! I’m ready for the sequel.
I can totally see this series turning into a franchise! Thank you so much to @sourcebooksfire for the ARC
