3 Most Anticipated Fantasy Books of 2025

There are so many books releasing in the year 2025! Being a book reviewer means I have the privilege of knowing about some of the best new release books.

These are my picks for the top 3 Most Anticipated Fantasy Books that will be hitting bookshelves very soon! Some of them also happen to be my current reads. I’ve been super blessed this year to be charmed by these enchanting tales.

1. The Princess Knight by Cait Jacobs @caitsbooks

Courtesy of Harper Voyager

Love is a battlefield and blondes duel it better.

Written by Booktok sensation, Cait Jacobs is their debut novel “The Princess Knight”. Fairy Tales are so back! This gorgeous medieval fantasy follows Princess Clia as she travels to a military academy to save her kingdom from a war looming over the horizon. But learning the language of battle isn’t the only challenge she will face when she starts developing feelings for a warrior named Ronan. Whom also happens to be her ex-fiance’s best friend.

Cait Jacobs @caitsbooks enchants readers with their elegant storytelling and cinematic imagery. And can we talk about the cover? The triquetra (Celtic Knot) is my favorite! The novel is ranked one of the best new fantasy books for its in depth research on Irish fantasy featuring creatures like the cute Dobhar-chú, elemental magic, and elemental inspired Gods.

If you’re looking for a romantasy with a Glinda coded Princess than look no further than the Princess Knight. It’s pitched as legally blonde but medieval!

Published by Harper Voyager/Harper Collins is your next hyper-fixation book coming this October 14th in the USA. Pre-Order The Princess Knight at B&N Here

2. I, Medusa by Ayana Gray @ayanagray_

E-ARC Courtesy of Random House Publishing

Everyone loves Greek Mythology, especially when it’s focused on iconic villains who always needed their story told. Ayana Gray @ayanagray_ has taken golden ink and crafted an epic tale of the origin story of Medusa.

Portraying Medusa not as a monster, but a vigilante & heroine. This story follows young Medusa aka “Meddy” from beginning to end. The official blurb by Ayana & Random House absolutely sold me!

“When her locs are transformed into snakes as punishment for a crime she did not commit, Medusa must embrace a new identity—not as a victim, but as a vigilante—and with it, the chance to write her own story as mortal, martyr, and myth.

Exploding with rage, heartbreak, and love, I, Medusa portrays a young woman caught in the crosscurrents between her heart’s deepest desires and the cruel, careless games the Olympian gods play.

If you’re a fan of Wicked‘s Elphaba, Melanin Magic, and Greek Lore with redemption and survival arcs then this book should be added to your TBR!

The book marketing is also beautifully crafted with a limited sprayed edge special edition upon its release November 18th. Thank you so much to Random House Publishing for the e-ARC!

3. The Weaver Bride by Lydia Gregovic @_lydiagregovic_

If you’re a fan of Stephanie Garber’s Once Upon A Broken Heart then meet your next read. Spellbinding us with magical families, plot twists and a yearning romance in the Weaver Bride by Lydia Gregovic. @_lydiagregovic_

The idea of magical families with a fierce romance is definitely thrilling! From what I’ve seen it seems it’s going to be high stakes as it follows a silkwitch named Lovett. I definitely look for strong female witchy characters in a book. I’m excited to see the mysticism of this story.

Official Book Blurb

A sweeping fantasy about a witch who must navigate a ruthless marriage competition—and try not to fall in love along the way. Part twisting mystery, part thrilling romance, The Weaver Bride is an unputdownable romantasy steeped in a lush magical world. Releasing September 30th, 2025

I pre-ordered this book in advance because of the gorgeous pink sprayed edges and stunning cover! Let’s be honest, I pre-ordered all of these books!

This year has truly been one of the best years for fantasy novels. I couldn’t be happier to support all of these authors. Hopefully you can add these stories to your shelf!
